The Secure 12x3 Short Term Medical plan is designed to cover short gaps in medical benefits, but can be kept in force for up to three years. It functions like traditional health insurance. How long does it take to get covered?

The great thing about the Secure 12x3 is that coverage can be in force as quickly as 12:01 A.M. the day after you submit your application. The application is only two pages, or you can order coverage online. There are no medical exams, nor do you need to provide any medical records. There are only a few simple health questions on the application.

What if I get my company benefits back?

Another reason the Secure 12x3 is a great choice for your situation with AK Steel is the 10 day free look period. The policy reads "If you are not completely satisfied with this coverage, and you have not filed a claim, you may return the Certificate of Insurance within 10 days and receive a premium refund."
